3 months {Ryder}

At 3 months Ryder:
-weighs 15 pounds
- wears 6 month clothes. 3 month sleepers are too short now.
- still waking at 5am to eat and back to sleep
-you eat 4 oz. there have been 2 or 3 times that I've had to give you 2 more ounces after a feed! 🐷
- still sleeping by momma's side of the bed
- very social baby! He doesn't like when he can't see anyone around him
- went through his 3rd wonder week. This leap was 'smooth transitions.' Ryder can follow a sound, he has started squirming and acting giddy/excited, discovered he has a voice and will coo when talked to.
- traveled 5 states this month: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and finally.. Destin, Florida! Ryder was a trooper in the car and his favorite beach activity was snoozing in his rock n play while listening to the waves.
-and my favorite update: you started smiling this month!!

Ryder Boyd

We were induced on August 31st, 2015! Daniel and I arrived at the hospital at 5:00am. I don't know about him but I did not sleep at all! I kept waking up to look at the clock to see if it was time to go meet our sweet boy yet. What a strange feeling! We started the admitting process right away, they got me all hooked up and that was followed by torturous blood work. That was by far the worst part of the day. For both pain and it made me super queasy after having 2 veins blown and seeing blood everywhere! The nurse, Sarah, who was absolutely wonderful, started pitocin at 6:45. The doctor was there to give the epidural at 7:00 and followed up by breaking my waters at 715. I was only dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced when he broke my waters. We were checked again at 9:00 and had progressed to a 4. Mimi got there about this time. We spent the morning trying to rest, Daniel tried to read a book but every time he opened it there was some kind up distraction. It was pretty difficult to get comfortable as Ryder preferred me to lay on my left side so my left leg felt like it weighed 1,000,000 pounds because the epidural goes with gravity. By 10:30 we had progressed to an 8. I asked the nurse how long it usually takes to get from an 8 to a 10 (because I'm so patient). She said she's seen it take minutes to hours. It took a few hours to make it from an 8 to a 10 with Rowdy so I didn't have my hopes up. She walked out of the room and all of a sudden i felt really intense pressure. It scared me to go from feeling absolutely nothing all morning to feeling like my bottom was about to explode. Cue the major melt down and awful labor shakes. Nana & Papa walked in at this time. The nurse came right back in the room to check me and we were ready to go! I pushed three times, and Ryder was here at 11:05am. He weighed 7 lbs 0.5 oz and was 20in long! The whole labor and delivery was so calm and I felt very relaxed. Just look at this PERFECT sweet boy!

Baby Thom #2! [5 weeks]

Secrets out! Baby Thompson #2 is on his/her way! We found out on December 27th, 2014. I took a cheapo test and thought I saw a line but no color. I tore the test apart trying to figure the line out but no luck. I stopped by dollar general for another test later that morning- not expecting anything! I got pretty use to seeing negatives since starting this journey in June! There was a very light (purple) line this time! OMG! I showed it to my mom and asked her what she thought that meant?! This is almost an exact replay of the test I took with Rowdy. Instead of a warning, hey I'm going to take a pregnancy test. She just gets a test thrown at her and a demanding "what does this mean?!" So many questions before she even looks at the test! What is this? Do you think you're pregnant? Did you read the directions? Go get the directions! Makes me laugh.
 Instead of wasting energy trying to figure out the light line I went to Walgreens to get a fool proof test. I convinced myself it was going to say not pregnant. I was trying to not care about the 'not pregnant' before it showed up, well what do you know? PREGNANT!
Thank you Jesus! Thank you for this blessing! Daniel was still at work so after getting ideas from friends on how to surprise him I ended up wrapping up the test and telling him I found another present for him hiding under the tree! He is super excited already, so I can't imagine how he'll be after he hear the heartbeat! We are so excited for Rowdy to have a sibling, a friend for life.

When I wrote this blog post I was almost 5 weeks prego!

Happy New Year! {[2015]}

2015! New year, new you!

What a lot of changes this year will bring us! We're getting a new house, Daddy's going to have a new job, and I turn two years old! I'm sure there's going to be a whole lot more that I don't even know about! Dad says that he's going to teach me Spanish and that's he's going to learn too. He said that he wanted to do this last year, but got really busy, and I wasn't talking a whole lot. But now that I'm a jibbering-jabbering-lil-baby, we're going to give this thang a shot!

This past year was a lot of fun! When I turned one, so many family and friends showed up for my birthday party. My mom and dad say that I am loved. With all of those people that showed up, how could I disagree with that?! So many people care for me and love me! My mom and dad also took me to a drive-thru zoo and we saw lots of neat animals! Although, I did NOT like the way that those foxes were looking at me... We even got to get out of the car and pet some pigs, goats, and a kangaroo! Yep!

Spending the summer with Mommy was so much fun! She didn't have to work, so we got to stay at home and play and have fun! A couple times a week, we would meet up with other mommies and babies to play and eat at the park.

I went to a lot of my other friends' birthday parties this past year too! I got a lot of friends! Can't wait to get bigger and start REALLY playing with them. Moms be scared.

Man I got a lot of cool new toys, books, and clothes for Christmas! My dad got me some Batman action figures (I think he likes Batman more than I do). I got a new tool set, cars, trains, blocks, bowling ball and pins, and more. I like Christmas because I get to see so much family that I don't get to see very often during the year. They make a lot of chocolate too!

My mom and dad tell me that they love me everyday. Every morning, when I wake up, Mom comes and gets me and we cuddle in her bed while watching TV and drinking juice.  And at night, even though I don't want to go to bed, it puts me to ease when mom and dad hold me, hug me, kiss me, sing to me, and pray for me before they lay me down to sleep.

My dad says that because of me, when I was born, he has a better understanding of how much God loves us. He knew that God loves us. But this "Fatherly Love" makes so much more sense now that he's a dad. He says that he would do anything for me; take away my sickness when I am sick, my sadness when I am sad, and my hurt when I am hurting. He doesn't want anything bad to happen to me. Much like God doesn't want anything bad to happen to us. And he wants to take those things and put them all on Him. My dad says that this kind of love has changed the way he thinks and acts, for the better. Glad I could help, Daddy! I know that I, too, will one day feel and show this love towards others, as my mom and dad have, because they are raising me and training me in the ways I should go, so that when I am older, I will not depart from it (Proverbs 22.6). I just have to listen and obey my parents. Haha!

Oh man 2015, bring it on!

God Bless!
- Rowdy
